Our FOG management system is automatically dosed daily for continuous control. It breaks down FOGs and over time forms a beneficial biofilm in grease traps and drains. Because the bacteria use FOGs as a food source the waste is effectively broken down at the source and not just transferred downstream.

How It Works

Our drain management service uses a blend of naturally-occurring, non-GMO bacteria which produce enzymes (biological catalysts) that break down fats, oils and greases. These enzymes actually break down FOGs into their constituent parts (unlike a detergent that just helps move FOGs elsewhere) and like all catalysts the enzymes are not ‘used up’ in the process. This is how bacteria feed – they produce enzymes to break down waste into its constituent molecules – molecules small enough for them to absorb across their cell membrane.

How It’s Dosed

We complete a free, no obligation survey to identify any issues (including EN 1825 compliance) and potential savings from emptying and desludging.

The system is automatic and fully-managed: a precise amount of friendly bacteria in a liquid medium are dosed nightly via an automatic pump. We replenish the liquid as soon as more is required so you don’t need to think about it.

Superior FOG Digestion

FOGs are composed of triglycerides – three fatty acids attached to a glycerol ‘backbone’. Our friendly bacteria produce lipases – enzymes that strip the fatty acids from the glycerol backbone – so the FOGs aren’t fats any more.

They are soluble fatty acids and soluble glycerol and cannot recombine back into fats.

Improved Flow

Because this biological breakdown of FOG’s is irreversible and because FOG levels are reduced ‘in-situ’ in the grease trap they are not transferred downstream, reducing the need for emptying, sludging or rodding. The product removes the cost of expensive plumbing work and potentially damaging rodding.

Odour Control

The effective breakdown of volatile fatty acids means the hydrogen sulphide and other noxious gases that are roduced in septic or anaerobic environments is no longer produced. It also means no malodours in the kitchen area which reduces the risk of rodent and cockroach infestation.

Reduction in BOD, COD and TSS

Lower levels reduce sewage costs and the risk of exceeding environmental permissions to discharge. Reduction of BOD by over 80% is possible.

With so many buidings across our 15-acre estate we’ve managed to save well over 100 tons of water a week – and over 7 tons of CO2 off our carbon footprint.
